Elections for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU), which are being held after a four-year hiatus, started on Friday. There are paramilitary and Delhi police officers stationed outside the colleges where voting is taking place. For the four positions of president, vice president, secretary, and joint secretary, a total of 24 candidates are running.
Aiyesha Ahmad Khan from Miranda House, Arif Siddiqui from the Department of Buddhist Studies, Himanshu Thakur from Hansraj College, Hitesh Gulia, and seven other candidates submitted their nominations for the position of president. Law Center’s Alias Hitesh, Lakshmi Bai College’s Shimpi, the Department of Library and Information Science’s Shraddha Gupta, A-U Tibbia College’s Soumya Kumar Satyam, and the Department of Buddhist Studies’ Tushar Dedha.
