Education minister’s directive to free science and math teachers from non-subject fund duties

There’s an important development concerning the deployment of science and math teachers in the Education Department’s schools. This directive has been issued by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. In schools under the Education Department, teachers of science and math subjects were being assigned responsibility for various funds like Amalgamated Fund, Sports Fund, Comprehensive Education Fund, etc., affecting students’ education adversely. Science and math subjects demand consistent attention and practical activities, hence the Directorate of School Education (Secondary), Punjab, has communicated to district education officers that teachers of science and math subjects should not be assigned any other fund responsibilities unrelated to their subjects. This ensures that the education of students studying science and math is not negatively impacted.
