In a departure from its longstanding tradition, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education is contemplating an early commencement of exams, with indications suggesting a start in the last week of February. Although the final decision is pending, a consensus among board officials is reportedly in progress.
The motivation behind this shift in schedule is attributed to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and various other significant exams, including engineering and medical entrance tests, scheduled in the subsequent months. The consensus among board officials aligns with the need to conduct exams before the polling centres are set up in government schools during the election period.
Given the proximity of major competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and CLAT, among others, the board aims to synchronize the schedule of Rajasthan Board students with the calendars of these national-level exams. The government has initiated the formation of a high-powered committee under the leadership of the Education Minister to decide on the exam schedule. Pending the assignment of responsibilities among ministers in the newly formed council of ministers, the board awaits the appointment of the Education Minister. Once appointed, efforts will be made to convene a meeting of the high-powered committee, and a decision on the exam dates is expected later this week. The board is gearing up for the impending announcement.
