The Enforcement Directorate carried out search operations at seven sites in Patiala, Punjab, as part of an investigation into a gold smuggling case, according to a statement released by the agency on Thursday.
As per the statement, the agency conducted search operations at seven locations in Patiala, Punjab on December 12 at the premises of Lucky Satija, Surinder Kumar, Manjodh Singh Cheema and others in relation to the smuggling of foreign-origin gold into India.
During the search operations, various incriminating documents and digital devices were recovered and seized, the statement added.
Earlier in November this year, the ED conducted searches at 18 locations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
During the search operations various incriminating documents, digital devices and unaccounted cash and jewellery of Rs 1.60 Crore (Cash of Rs 95 lakhs, Jewellery worth Rs 65 lakhs) were recovered and seized, it added.
