The Rajasthan Assembly elections are approaching. Questions arise regarding tainted candidates in elections. However, this time, the Election Commission of India has introduced a new system. In this system, candidates with a criminal background will have to provide information about their criminal activities in three daily newspapers. Additionally, political parties will have to explain why they chose a candidate with a criminal background. They will have to provide clarification in newspapers.
Furthermore, if a voter wants to know whether a candidate has a criminal background or not, they can obtain complete information through the ‘Know Your Candidate’ application. This application will include the candidate’s entire affidavit.
