EC CLASHES WITH CPI’S ARGUMENTS

After losing status as the national party, the Communist Party of India (CPI) called an emergency meeting of its national secretariat. In the meeting, they decided to approach the Election Commission to reconsider the decision to scrap the status of the national party. CPI lost its status when they were about to celebrate the centenary of their party establishment. The argument given by the party to the EC is that they should give due consideration to its rich history, its prominent role in the fight against the British Raj, and its role in shaping the national agenda in post-independence India. Now there are so many parties that were formed before the independence, and many of them have become non-existent. One officer of EC gave a counter argument that what the CPI is saying if its  accepted then many of the old parties which are non existent have to revived by EC. is it possible?
