The National Center for Seismology on Sunday said a 4.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Manipur’s Moirang at 11:42 PM on Saturday.
Taking to Twitter, NCS informed, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.8, occurred on 16-07-2022, 23:42:48 IST, Lat: 24.25 & Long: 94.37, Depth: 94 Km, Location: 66km ESE of Moirang, Manipur, India.”
The disaster’s epicentre was reported to be 94 km which occurred on Saturday in the East-Southeast of Moirang, Manipur.
So far, no casualties and damage to property have been reported. Moreover, further details are awaited.
On July 5 in Assam, a Richter scale 3.7 magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:03 am. The depth of the quake was 35 km.
Notably, National Center for Seismology (NCS) is the nodal agency of the Government of India that monitors earthquake activity in the country.
