Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala announced the establishment of an interstate fire safety training center in Haryana, modeled after the existing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Additionally, Chautala revealed plans for the Fire and Emergency Services Training Centre in Manesar Sector 8 to acquire its own 90-meter-high hydraulic platform and gym. These announcements were made during Chautala’s visit to the training center on Tuesday.
The Institute of Fire and Safety Engineering in Nagpur is renowned as one of the country’s premier centers for fire safety education and training. Since 2006, the institute has been providing comprehensive firefighting and industrial safety training. State government is making efforts to enhance emergency services, the deputy CM said.
Adding that discussions on establishment of fire training centres in every Haryana city are under way.The centre in Jind will benefit not only the youth of Haryana but also those from other states, he added.
The state fire department currently possesses hydraulic platforms that are up to 40m high.
Considering highrises built in major districts of the state, government has initiated the process of procuring a 90m hydraulic platform, and the purchase will be completed soon, Chautala further said. The fire department will also receive motorcycles to navigate through narrow and congested lanes for timely firefighting.
