MUMBAI : The Maharashtra Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested two individuals and seized Alprazolam tablets and banned cough syrups worth Rs 8.88 lakh. One of the suspects was apprehended in the Mira-Bhayander area on September 18, carrying 300 bottles of cough syrup containing codeine phosphate valued at Rs 1.5 lakh and 10,800 Alprazolam tablets worth Rs 2.16 lakh. An FIR was filed under the NDPS Act, and during the interrogation, it was revealed that he had sourced the prohibited drugs from a supplier in Valsad, Gujarat.
