Drug-Free Campaign held in Panchkula

A drug-free campaign is being run in the district. The campaign, under which the police are destroying drug smugglers along with their illegal properties, also involves raising awareness among people through organized programs in urban and rural areas. The police spokesperson stated that, following the Police Commissioner’s instructions, station in-charges and police officers should visit every village in their jurisdiction to educate people about avoiding drugs.

As part of the drug-free campaign, ACP Aryan Choudhary organized a volleyball competition in Shyam 2 village to promote de-addiction and discussed drug prevention with the people in Barwala. While addressing the villagers, ACP Aryan Choudhary urged them to immediately inform the police if anyone consumes or sells any kind of intoxicant. The identity of the person providing information will be kept confidential, and prompt action will be taken against the offenders. Additionally, village elders were requested to report any drug consumption in the village to the police, enabling the individuals to be taken to a de-addiction center for treatment by contacting doctors. ACP Aryan Choudhary emphasized that addiction not only harms an individual’s body but also affects their family.

The police station in-charge, while addressing the villagers, provided his mobile number (8146630017) and encouraged them to report any cases of drug abuse or drug sales. He highlighted the destructive impact drug addiction has on families and urged the community to support each other in leading prosperous lives. Station in-charge Lalit Kumar mentioned that speaking to village elders reveals the truth about the village and society, as they have experienced every stage of life. He assured the villagers that the police are committed to achieving a drug-free environment and need their cooperation for success. Anyone with information about drug consumption or sales was urged to inform the police through WhatsApp at 708-708-1100.

Upon reaching Barwala, ACP Aryan, in his interaction with the people, expressed concern about the youth falling into the trap of drug addiction. He emphasized that starting with small drugs can lead to more severe substances and criminal activities. ACP Aryan appealed to the public to cooperate with the police in avoiding drug addiction, stating that collective efforts can save individuals, families, and society. Any information related to drugs can be reported to Panchkula Police’s WhatsApp number 708-708-1100 or ACP Aryan’s mobile number 8146630007.
