Through the use of drones, the gangster Jassa, involved in illegal arms and heroin trafficking from Pakistan, has been apprehended along with three accomplices. The police seized three pistols and 14 cartridges from the traffickers. Jassa, residing in Tarn Taran, was arrested near the Verka Milk Plant. Charges under the Arms Act have been filed in the Jalandhar Division 1 police station.
Commissioner Swapn Sharma stated that Jassa revealed deep connections with traffickers in Pakistan. He confessed to purchasing pistols and heroin via drones from Pakistan and had smuggled six consignments so far.
Jassa’s brother was murdered in Tarn Taran about 15 days ago. The police had filed a case against terrorist Lakhbir Singh in connection with the killing of Sukhpreet Singh. The police named accomplices, including Harke, Gurpreet Singh, Makkhu, Mitthu Maradi Singh, and Sukhmanpreet Singh alias Kalu, in the case. National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of 15 lakh rupees on terrorist Lakhbir Singh Sandhu, accused of spreading terrorism in Punjab. Lakhbir Singh orchestrated an attack on the Tarn Taran police station. He went abroad in 2017, and NIA has been searching for him since.
Lakhbir Singh has been involved in several terrorist incidents in Punjab and the smuggling of weapons from Pakistan. Currently hiding in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, he faces charges of murder, attempted murder, extortion, drug trafficking, kidnapping, and various cases related to illegal weapons in different police stations across Punjab.
