Divisional Commissioner reviews arrangements for Asia’s largest Tulip Festival

Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, chaired a meeting today to oversee the preparations for Asia’s largest Tulip Garden ahead of its opening for visitors.
The meeting saw the presence of key stakeholders including the Director of Floriculture, SSP Traffic Srinagar, Joint Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), along with officials from the Tourism department and Srinagar Smart City Limited.

Several critical aspects were deliberated upon during the meeting, including the opening of the garden for visitors, traffic management, parking arrangements, sanitation measures, cleanliness drives, pothole repairs, and implementation of online ticketing systems.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Zabarwan Hills, Asia’s Largest Tulip Garden is set to showcase a stunning display of 17 lakh flowers of various varieties, welcoming visitors starting March 23.

Div Com Bidhuri emphasized the importance of facilitating online ticketing systems and implementing QR code scanning facilities at various points within the garden premises to streamline the visitor experience. Additionally, he urged for the use of colorful lighting arrangements to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the venue.

Furthermore, Bidhuri instructed the SMC to conduct thorough sanitation and cleanliness drives within the garden premises, ensuring the availability of separate mobile toilet facilities for both men and women.

Acknowledging the importance of smooth accessibility, the Div Com directed concerned authorities to prioritize the repair of potholes along the roads leading to the garden. It was revealed during the meeting that the department has allocated an additional 4 Kanals of parking space to accommodate the influx of visitors, aiming to enhance convenience and accessibility.

With meticulous planning and comprehensive arrangements underway, the Tulip Festival promises to offer visitors an enchanting experience amidst the natural splendor of Kashmir’s landscape.
