In preparation for the upcoming Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav, a district-level meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Varsha Khanagwal. The Mahotsav is slated to take place on the 22nd and 23rd of December at the Government Girls College auditorium in Sector-14.

During the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varsha Khanagwal issued crucial directives to various departments to ensure the seamless organization of the Geeta Jayanti Mahotsav. Emphasizing the significance of the event, he outlined plans for an elaborate procession, envisioning Panchkula adorned in the spirit of Geetamayi with the chanting of Geeta mantras at every square.
Cultural Extravaganza and Competitions:
Khanagwal revealed that cultural programs centered around the teachings of the Geeta would be presented by students from schools and colleges on both days of the festival. These programs, featuring songs, bhajans, dances, and more, aim to showcase the rich culture and heritage of Haryana. Additionally, various competitions including quiz contests, poster presentations, and essay writing are scheduled for school children.
Seminar on Srimad Bhagavad Gita:
On December 22, a seminar focusing on the teachings of Srimad Bhagavad Gita will be conducted. Notably, lectures on the Gita will be delivered by Hindi and Sanskrit professors and speakers.
Global Gita Chanting and City Procession:
The festivities will culminate on December 23 with a global Gita chanting session at noon, followed by a city procession at 1 pm. The procession, based on Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta and the pastimes of Lord Shri Krishna, will commence from Sector 2, traversing through various sectors of the city.
Citywide Decorations and Illumination:
To enhance the festive ambiance, Geeta Chowk and various city squares will be adorned with colorful lights, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Recorded Geeta mantras will resonate at key intersections, adding a spiritual touch to the city’s decor.
Preparations Inspected at Women’s College:
Following the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner Varsha Khanagwal visited Sector 14 Women’s College to assess the preparations. Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Punia, DEO Satpal Sharma, Tehsildar Punyadeep Sharma, and officials from other relevant departments were also present during the inspection.
