The District Crime Cell team arrested three people under the NDPS Act. The arrested individuals were involved in drug smuggling under the guise of a dhaba and taxi.
The identification of the arrested accused is as follows: Ajay Sharma, resident of village-Harma, police station-Barsar, district-Hamirpur (Hippur), occupation taxi driver; Ashish Kumar alias Manu Ashish Kumar, resident of Bhakreri, district-Hamirpur (Hippur), occupation dhaba owner in Hamirpur; and Arshad, resident of Dilshad Garden, Old Seemapuri, Delhi. Accused Ajay Sharma is a taxi driver. Police recovered 260 grams of charas and an Alto car (taxi) from the possession of the accused.
Two cases have been registered against Ajay Sharma in Himachal under the NDPS Act. Ashish Kumar alias Manu Ashish Kumar runs a dhaba in Hamirpur. 9.60 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession. Cases have already been registered against accused Ashish Kumar under two NDPS Acts in Himachal. 3.55 grams of smack were recovered from accused Arshad. Giving information, Inspector Jasminder Singh, in-charge of DCC, said that the District Crime Cell arrested three people under the NDPS Act. A case was registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Police Station 36, Chandigarh. During patrolling, the team of Crime Cell, Sector-24, Chandigarh, established a naka near CTU Workshop, ISBT-43, Chandigarh, based on secret information and arrested three accused in the said case.
