Dispute over Pakistan’s first President’s property

Descendants of Pakistan’s first President Iskandar Ali Mirza now wants back the property and sent petition to the Custodian of Enemy property for India, a home ministry wing. Iskandar Mirza was born in Murshidabad and later became President of Pakistan after the partition. The property of late President was declared as Enemy property and it is under the custody of the Government of India. His descendants stayed back in West Bengal even after the partition. Descendants’ argument is that forefathers of Iskandar Mirza resided in India and for that reason it couldn’t be declared as enemy property.
