Today, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee celebrated the Prakash Diwas (the birth anniversary) of Guru Ramdas Ji with great devotion.
Devotees from both within the country and from overseas gathered to pay their respects. Guru Ramdas Ji is the fourth Guru of the Sikhs, and his 489th Prakash Diwas was celebrated today. On this occasion, the Golden Temple, Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, was beautifully decorated. In the evening, there was a procession and fireworks display. Amritsar, the holy city of Sikhism, celebrated the Prakash Purab of the fourth Guru, Guru Sri Ramdas Ji, with great fervor and enthusiasm. Members of the Shiromani Committee and devotees expressed that the occasion is being celebrated with deep reverence. Guru Ramdas Ji, the fourth Guru of Sikhism, was born in Lahore’s Chuna Mandi in 1534 and was a divine personality who dedicated his life to the betterment of society. He founded the city of Amritsar and initiated the excavation of the sacred Sarovar. He also worked tirelessly to spread the Sikh faith and establish the Langar tradition.
The occasion is not only celebrated at Sri Harmandir Sahib but also in many countries. The procession took place, and there will be a display of lights and fireworks in the evening. People expressed that they find inner peace and tranquility by visiting the Guru’s home, and they feel blessed to have the opportunity to bow before the Guru.
