Designated terrorist Pannu threatens to Punjab leadership, calls on gangsters to disrupt R-day

In a disturbing turn of events, the designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has issued a threat to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Police Chief Gaurav Yadav, urging local gangsters to join the banned outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) and disrupt Republic Day celebrations.

Pannu conveyed this threat through an email to journalists and videos, drawing unsettling parallels between Mann and the late CM Beant Singh, as well as likening Yadav to the assassinated police officer Gobind Ram.

The threat extends to Republic Day festivities, with Pannu daring Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the event without security. In a video, he challenges Modi, linking SFJ’s actions to avenging the assassination of Nijjar in Canada, whom Pannu refers to as “Shaheed.”
Another video from Pannu urges Punjab gangsters to join SFJ, participate in a Khalistan referendum, and prevent CM Mann from hoisting the tricolour on Republic Day.

While the email slightly deviates from the videos, emphasizing gangsters becoming “shaheeds” (martyrs), it underscores Pannu’s alarming call to action. Designated as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Pannu is now under increased scrutiny.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took a decisive step in September last year, confiscating Pannu’s properties, including 5.7 acres of agricultural land in Amritsar and a share of a house in Chandigarh’s sector 15/C area.

Punjab Police, well-acquainted with Pannu’s history of threats, assures stringent security measures for all VIPs in the state. The situation remains tense as authorities work to address this alarming development and safeguard public figures from potential harm.
