On Sunday, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, a kite festival was also organised on the sails of Jal Mahal by the Tourism Department and Jaipur District Administration. The kite festival was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. She started the program by releasing colourful balloons in the air.
During this period, about 127 folk artists presented Rajasthani folk colours. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari said on this occasion that the Rajasthan Tourism Department works to save traditions and heritage by organizing festivals. In the coming times, these events will be organized on a more grand and large scale.
He said that the Tourism Department is busy identifying new tourist destinations and preparing infrastructure for tourists there. According to the Deputy Chief Minister, in the coming time, those places of the state will be promoted on the tourism map which have immense tourism potential and where tourists are not yet accessible. She watched the performances of the folk artists of the state and also encouraged them.
Giving information about the Kite Festival, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Upendra Singh Shekhawat said that on this occasion, along with a grand exhibition of different types of kites, a live demonstration of how kites are made was also done.
Shekhawat said that during the Kite Festival, Peacock dance, Algoja Vadav and Kachhi Ghodi dance, Langa singing-Bhapang playing, Kalbeliya dance, Teratali dance, Aangi Gair dance, Pad Dangal, Mushak playing, Band playing, Kathputalati dance, Flute-playing, Ravana Hattha playing. , Shehnai Band etc. were presented by folk artists from different regions of the state.
On this occasion, Chief Government Secretary of Tourism Department Gayatri Rathore, RTDC Managing Director Vijaypal Singh, Director Dr Rashmi Sharma, Additional Director of the Department Dr Rashtradeep Yadav and other key officials were present.
After taking over the administration on behalf of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, this was the first public program in the Tourism Department in which the Deputy Chief Minister participated. To see Kumari, the people of Jaipur remained at the Jal Mahal since early morning. Even at the venue of the program, efforts were made by local residents and tourists to click photos with the Deputy Chief Minister and listen to her.
During the kite festival, the Deputy Chief Minister and departmental officials were also present among the city residents and domestic and foreign tourists. The Chief Government Secretary and the Director also flew kites in the event. Enthusiasm was seen among the city residents after finding the government and administration in their midst.
During the kite festival, the masquerade artists were the centre of special attraction for domestic and foreign tourists. Tourists took selfies with him and made reels.
