Delhiites, get ready for mobile mohalla clinics

Mohalla clinics, which are designed for the convenience of the general public in Delhi, will soon be accessible in a completely different setup. These new mohalla clinics will be more appealing and convenient than ever before. These clinics will be portable, allowing them to be shifted from one location to another as needed.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Monday said that earlier mohalla clinics were either built on-site with concrete or were built in portable cabins. And there were many complaints of theft and sabotage. To address these issues, new mohalla clinics are being built through shipping containers, with the goal of reducing these incidents of theft and sabotage. At the same time, these mohalla clinics will now reach the people directly from the container factory.

Jain also said that the biggest challenge before the Delhi government to build mohalla clinics is often regarding the availability of land, but from now these clinics can be made in less space and if needed they can also be shifted from one place to another.

The Delhi Health Minister also informed that these clinics have been built in a shipping container on a trial basis in Rani Bagh. The clinics are painted red on the outside and are just as lovely on the inside as they are on the outside. The clinics are properly air-conditioned and have wooden floors. One such portable mohalla clinic has been constructed in the Rani Bagh area of Shakur Basti, the Assembly constituency of Satyendar Jain.

According to him, if the new mohalla clinic’s trial is successful, the entire setup of the new mohalla clinic can be prepared in this manner in the future.

In 2015, when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government came to power in Delhi, the government had promised to build 1,000 mohalla clinics, out of which 500 such clinics have been built in Delhi so far.
