Delhi: four people killed, two injured as truck runs over them in Seemapuri.

In Delhi’s Seemapuri, a speeding truck struck four people who were sleeping on a road divider at 1.50 a.m. on Wednesday, leaving two others injured.

According to the deputy police commissioner, R. Sathiyasundaram, the truck was being driven recklessly.

“Out of those six victims, four were shifted to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital…while two people died on the spot, one person was declared brought dead and the other succumbed to his injuries during primary treatment,” said Sathiyasundaram.

He identified the victims as Seemapuri residents Mohammad Karim, 52; Chhote Khan, 25, Shah Alam, 38; and Rahul, 45, of Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh. Sathiyasundaram said that Manish, 16, of Sahibabad, and Pradeep Kumar, 30, of Tahirpur in Delhi, are two injured people who are receiving medical treatment.

According to Sathiyasundaram, teams have been formed to locate the truck and arrest its driver. A case has been filed at the Seemapuri Police Station.
