Delhi Police prepares for Kanwar Yatra, 338 camps approved for the stay of Kanwariyas

Delhi Police is very cautious about the Kanwar Yatra to be held in this holy month of Sawan. The police have made security arrangements for the Kanwar’s at different places. After two years, the Kanwar Yatra is happening again this month of Sawan, and more people are expected to visit this year.

At the same time, the Delhi Administration is also cautious about this Yatra; more than 2,000 Delhi, Traffic Police personnel will be deployed for the smooth movement of Kanwar pilgrims and vehicles.

Moreover, Delhi Traffic Police personnel will be stationed on various routes in Shahdara districts bordering Uttar Pradesh. So that Kanwar passengers do not have to face any trouble. Apart from traffic personnel, Delhi Police and paramilitary forces security officers will also be present in the eastern parts of Delhi.

According to Delhi Police, so far, 338 Kanwariya camps have been sanctioned for the convenience and stay of Kanwar pilgrims, and these camps are being set up at various places in East Delhi.

Delhi Traffic Police Deputy Commissioner Ram Gopal Naik informed out of 338 camps, 172 had been approved by the government, including nine security camps, while 157 were private camps. Also, senior traffic police officials said that separate lanes have already been made for Kanwariyas on certain roads, and no vehicle will be allowed to enter those lanes.

CCTV cameras installed in the camps

For security in the camps, the DCPs of the three districts said that CCTV cameras are being installed on all bases, besides a logbook containing the data of kanwariyas entering and exiting the camps will be maintained. Along with this, medical facilities will also be available in the camps for Kanwariyas.
