Considering the improvement in the city’s air quality, Delhi and Noida schools are scheduled to reopen on 9 November.
Earlier on 7 November, the Delhi government announced plans to reopen schools and asked its 50 percent of staff to work from home.
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said, “It has been decided to lift the curbs imposed under stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan in compliance with the direction of the Commission for Air Quality Management. Primary schools will reopen from November 9 and the order asking 50 per cent of the government staff to work from home is being revoked.”
Due to increased air pollution, the schools of Noida were shut down till class 8 and were shifted to online mode.
However, after observing the air quality, the meeting was held by District Magistrate, G.B.Nagar and they decided to reopen schools.
