In the midst of the ongoing manhunt for fugitive pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, teams from Delhi and Punjab Police launched a search operation in Delhi and its borders on Friday in anticipation of his possible entry into the national capital.
According to Delhi Police sources, the leader of the pro-Khalistani outfit Waris Punjab De is believed to have fled to Delhi. According to sources, the Delhi Police and Punjab Police were conducting a search operation in Delhi and its surrounding areas after receiving intelligence about Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal being seen at Delhi’s ISBT bus terminal.

The Punjab Police questioned Amritpal’s ability to cross the Delhi border in any vehicle other than a bus. Following the input, the Delhi Police have gone on high alert and are attempting to track Amritpal’s movements.
An alert has also been issued in the Uttarakhand districts of Dehradun, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar as a precaution due to the possibility of Amritpal Singh entering the state.
