The High Court of Delhi on Monday dismissed the batch of petitions challenging the Agnipath scheme to seek the resumption and enrollment as per the previous recruitment scheme in defence services of India.
While passing the judgement, a bench of judges headed by the Chief Justice of Delhi said that, “The scheme is made in the national interest and to ensure that armed forces are better equipped.”
The Chief Justice, Satish Chandra Sharma, who headed the bench which comprised of Justice Subramonium Prasad on Monday, February 27, upheld the central government’s Agnipath Scheme. They furthermore said that they didn’t find any reason to interfere in the said scheme. Notably, the scheme is a major paradigm shift in the recuritement process of defence personnel.
