Ordinance row: Kejriwal meets Telangana CM KCR in Hyderabad

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal met with K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, on Saturday in Hyderabad amid the controversy surrounding the Center’s law governing the administration of administrative services in the capital.
The national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asked Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for assistance in opposing the Centre’s ordinance, which the party alleges violates the Supreme Court judgement. Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha, both members of the AAP, were with Kejriwal along with his Punjabi counterpart Bhagwant Mann.
On May 23, the Delhi Chief Minister started a cross-country campaign to rally opposition to the law.
Kejriwal previously met with Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Sharad Pawar, the chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, and his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav.
Additionally, he stated that he would not be able to make it to the NITI Aayog meeting that would be held in the nation’s capital on Saturday.
This follows the Union government’s introduction of an ordinance on May 19 to announce guidelines for the GNCTD about “transfer posting, vigilance and other incidental matters.”
The ordinance was brought to amend the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 and it circumvents the Supreme Court judgement in the Centre vs Delhi case.
