A significant fire erupted in three coaches of the Taj Express between Delhi’s Tughlakabad and Okhla on Monday, according to the CPRO of Northern Railway. The DCP Railways reported receiving a call at 4:41 pm about the fire on the train. In response, six fire tenders were dispatched to the scene. Fortunately, there were no injuries or harm reported in the incident.
“A PCR call received at 4.41 pm regarding a fire in the train was received at HNRS. The IO reached at the spot near Appollo Hospital. At the spot, it was noticed that there was a fire in three coaches of the Taj Express train. The train has stopped. No one is injured, as the passengers have moved to the other coaches and deboarded. Further, action is being taken by the railways,” said DCP.
The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but it is speculated that an electrical short circuit may have been the trigger. An investigation is currently underway, and further details are awaited.
