Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson, Swati Maliwal, demanded the resignation of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday over his response to recent violence in the state. Maliwal, who has been in Manipur since Sunday, highlighted that neither the CM nor government officials had met the victims of the violent incidents. She called on PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani to intervene. Maliwal criticised the conditions of the relief camps and the chief minister’s lack of action, considering the escalating violence which has claimed over 160 lives since May.
