Deputy Commissioner of Gurdaspur, Dr. Himanshu Agrawal, has expressed grave concern about an incident that occurred during the fair in Churia village, Fatehgarh Churian. He informed that the fair committee had not informed the administration in any way about the stunts to be performed at the fair, nor had any prior approval been granted.
However, after this incident, the administration has become fully alert, and officials from various areas related to Gurdaspur District have been strictly instructed to keep a close watch on such fairs in their respective regions. No event involving stunts should be allowed without the approval of the administration.
He stated that after this incident, the SDM of Fatehgarh Churian has been directed to investigate the matter and submit a report within a week. If any wrongdoing is found, action will be taken against those responsible. He emphasized that for the future, the district administration will issue advisories to prevent such incidents and will take effective steps to stop such events. He has also appealed to the fair committees of various villages to exercise caution during fairs and, if they plan to organize stunts, inform the administration in advance and obtain the necessary approvals to prevent any unforeseen accidents.
