DC Aashika Jain directs timely doorstep service disposal

Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain has directed district administration offices responsible for overseeing the door-to-door delivery of citizen-centric services, booked through dialing 1076 under the “Bhagwant Mann Sarkar Tugade Dwar” initiative, to ensure timely disposal.
During a review meeting with ADCs, SDMs, Tehsildars, and Naib Tehsildars at her office, she noted that while the district has successfully processed 160 applications out of a total of 295 requests received on dial 1076, there is a need to expedite service delivery. She emphasized that the remaining applications fall within the time frame set by the Punjab Government for these 43 services.

Some officers provided feedback, highlighting that document processing is delayed due to reports from Patwaris/Nambardars, which can be addressed through alternative procedures. Deputy Commissioner Jain instructed them to find solutions to avoid delays caused by Patwaris and Nambardars and to skip steps where the report is not mandatory.

She emphasised that doorstep service delivery is a pioneering initiative, urging officers to minimize unnecessary delays. Commissioner Jain stressed the importance of delivering services before the stipulated timeline to benefit residents. This doorstep delivery initiative, conceptualized by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to ease the common people’s challenges in completing tasks without having to visit various offices.

Commissioner Jain clarified that any laxity in the timely delivery of services may have consequences for the respective officer/employee, and their login should not indicate pending tasks beyond the specified time limit. Additionally, Commissioner Jain urged the public to dial 1076 to book their time slots for doorstep service, saving their valuable time and avoiding visits to government offices.
