Day 9: Sky Force Box Office Collection of Akshay Kumar & Veer Pahariya’s Film Crosses Rs 100 Crore

Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s action entertainer Sky Force has registered a huge push on its second Saturday after having had an excellent first week.

It raked in 60% more at the box office on the ninth day and took its total collections past the Rs 100 crore mark, raking in Rs 5 crore.

A Powerful Start with a Midweek Dip

Released on January 24 with attractive ticket pricing, Sky Force opened with an impressive Rs 12.25 crore. The momentum continued well into the first weekend, and collections soared to Rs 22 crore on Saturday and peaked at Rs 28 crore on Sunday. Also, on Monday, however, the film downed sharply 75% with Rs 7 crore.

So, the current competition for the box office is posed by this one.

Though performance is good of Sky Force so far, Sky Force is on a back footing as Shahid Kapoor’s fresh release Deva hit the floors last Friday itself.

While Deva received mixed reviews, it still poses a challenge in the Hindi film market. On Saturday, the Shahid Kapoor starrer opened at Rs 5.50 crore and saw a modest increase to Rs 6.25.

Releasing soon are Loveyapa, with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, and Badass Ravikumar, with Himesh Reshammiya. This could disturb the growth of Sky Force at the box office.

Audience Reaction and Theatrical Occupation Trends

Sky Force had a decent start from the morning shows on its second Saturday, which was 9%. It went up to 20% in the afternoon and reached 28% by evening, indicating that the audience was very keen.

Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, Sky Force is produced under Maddock Films and Jio Studios. With Veer Pahariya making his debut, the leading cast includes performances by Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur.
