As part of teachers’ training at Bhawan Vidyalaya in Sector 15, Panchkula, a workshop on cybersecurity was conducted by Priyanka Punia, the founder of Pi Academy. Emphasizing the urgent need for a change in society’s mindset regarding cybercrime, Punia demonstrated how easily phones can be hacked.

Punia provided insights into various cyber frauds prevalent today, explaining the intricacies of scams, including those involving impersonation of police, army, or elderly individuals. Notable mentions were made about scams such as the OLX scam and the request money scam. As a precautionary measure, Punia advised against answering video calls on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp and urged attendees to avoid clicking on unknown links.

Additionally, she stressed the importance of never sharing OTPs and sensitive information.
Addressing the significance of such workshops, Gulshan Kaur, the headmistress of the school, expressed that they equip teachers with the knowledge to prevent cybercrimes and enable them to educate students about contemporary online threats. The workshop was attended by over 100 teachers, including Rachita Khurana, Head of Computer Department, and Kamal Parminder, Area Manager of Kipus Publication.
