Cricket tournament organised under drug-free campaign

Under the police’s drug-free campaign, a cricket tournament was organized for the youth to participate in. In accordance with the instructions of District Police Commissioner Shivas Kaviraj, continuous efforts are being made to make the district drug-free. Different police teams are actively involved in drug prevention. The police team is directing individuals trapped in the quagmire of drug addiction to drug de-addiction centers, facilitating their treatment to pull them out of this dark life. Additionally, police are demolishing properties acquired by drug smugglers through illicit means.
Police station in-charges have developed playgrounds in their respective areas where youth can be encouraged to steer clear of drugs and engage in sports by organizing various sports tournaments. This initiative aims to present a new, drug-free face of society, recognizing that the youth is the future of the country. In furtherance of this goal, police station in-charge Karambir Singh organized a cricket tournament in Pinjore, raising awareness about the importance of staying away from drugs. He emphasized that drug addiction is the biggest enemy of families and society, often starting with minor addictions like beedi cigarettes for fashion.
Inspector Karambir Singh explained that the progression from minor intoxicants to heavier substances is a dangerous path.
He urged individuals to pay attention to their bodies, stay physically and mentally strong, and avoid falling into the trap of addiction. Singh highlighted that the police have established a dedicated number, 708708100, for sharing any drug-related information anonymously. He also provided his personal number, 97299-90502, encouraging people to report drug-related activities for immediate police action.
The police station in-charge appealed to all villagers to abstain from consuming drugs and encouraged them to report any drug addiction cases.
Those identified will be sent to the civil hospital for treatment, and drug smugglers will face immediate arrest with strict actions taken against them.
