Crackdown on narcotics trade continues in J&K, another property attached

In a relentless effort to curb the narcotics trade in Jammu and Kashmir, law enforcement authorities in Kulgam district have taken decisive action against drug peddlers, marking another significant step in the ongoing crackdown.

Police in Kulgam district have confiscated a single-storied residential property, valued at approximately 10.5 lakh and measuring 916.75 square feet, belonging to the notorious drug peddler, Nisar Ahmad Khanday, son of Bashir Ahmad Khanday and resident of Nipora.
The seizure was made under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985, in connection with Case FIR No. 39/2023 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act of PS Qazigund.

During the course of the investigation conducted by the police, the property was identified as being illegally acquired. It was found to be linked to illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances orchestrated by the said drug peddler.

This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the fight against the drug menace plaguing the region. The swift and decisive action taken by the authorities has been lauded by locals in the area, who view it as a positive step towards cleansing their communities of the drug scourge.

The seizure of illicitly acquired property sends a clear message to those involved in the narcotics trade that their activities will not be tolerated, and law enforcement agencies will continue to pursue them relentlessly.
