In response to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s press conference at the AICC headquarters in New Delhi, BJP State President CP Joshi has expressed his views. He has taken a critical stance against the Chief Minister’s statements, saying that the Chief Minister has pushed the entire state into crime and corruption in his quest for power.
Gehlot has repeatedly stated that he wants to step down as Chief Minister, but the position is not letting him go. In response to this, Joshi said that Ashok Gehlot’s mentality regarding the post of Chief Minister is not right, and the people of Rajasthan have now decided that the corrupt rule of Congress has to be uprooted.
BJP State President CP Joshi has said that it’s natural for the Chief Minister to feel the pain when they are being investigated by the ED because corruption has occurred in every department of their government. He said, “Where there is corruption, central agencies will intervene. The Chief Minister has made the state’s anti-corruption institution, ACB, toothless. The former ACB chief, BL Soni, himself accused the Chief Minister of wrongdoing. Over 90 per cent of cases have still not received prosecution approval. In this situation, how will corruption decrease in the state?”
On the other hand, opposition leader Rajendra Rathore has criticised CM Gehlot for alleged misuse of CBI and Income Tax departments in the press conference held in Delhi. He said that the Chief Minister is levelling allegations against central agencies while ignoring the misuse of investigation agencies in Rajasthan. Rathore said that the Chief Minister should first look into how many BJP leaders’ phones have been tapped by state investigation agencies on his instructions in the last five years. Rathore said that the Chief Minister admitted in the press conference that there is groupism in the Congress party. Gehlot has said that he has no objection to giving tickets to people from the Pilot camp. Rathore said that it is clear that there is intense infighting within the Congress regarding the first list of candidates. The movie “Kissa Kursi Ka” has been going on in the state for the last five years and is not ending anytime soon.
