Cooperative Minister sets tone for accountability in banking sector

Cooperative Minister Gautam Kumar Dak said that on financial irregularities in banks, direct suspension to dismissal proceedings will be implemented. He acknowledges the fact that cooperation is linked to serving the people. Hence, strict action will be taken in case of negligence.
He said that all officers and employees should work as per the rules. Minister said this while addressing the review meeting of Managing Directors of Central Cooperative Banks at Apex Bank on Monday.
He directed officials to quickly complete the pending investigations regarding irregular loan distribution and take action against those concerned.
He further stated that responsibility would be fixed on the wrong loan distribution. He laid special emphasis on taking concrete steps to strengthen the banking system and making arrangements for training if necessary.
Regarding irregularities in warehouse construction, he said that the amount to be spent on it and the mechanism for construction should be prepared.
