Internal conflicts continue to rise within Punjab’s Congress. The issue of posters regarding Navjot Sidhu’s Patiala rally is intensifying. According to reports, the Youth Congress has issued a notice to Navjot Sidhu’s close associate, Manasimarath Singh, also known as Sherry Riyadh. The Punjab Youth Congress has sought reasons and demanded a response from Sherry regarding the posters. Additionally, a decision to dissociate Sherry from the Punjab Youth Congress activities has been made. Allegations have surfaced against Sherry for speaking against the Punjab Congress. The Punjab Youth Congress, while seeking a response within three days to the notice, has indicated that failing to provide an answer will result in strict actions being taken.Reportedly, Sherry had put up posters in support of Sidhu for the Patiala rally. These posters did not feature any Congress leader from Punjab or the Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh.
Instead, they depicted images of Navjot Sidhu along with his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi. The slogan on these posters read, “The whole of Punjab is with Sidhu.”It’s worth mentioning that verbal disputes between Pratap Singh Bajwa and Navjot Sidhu have been ongoing since the Bathinda rally. Bajwa advised Sidhu not to create a separate platform but to present his opinions on the Congress party’s platform. He also highlighted that during his tenure, the party’s seats decreased from 78 to 18, urging Sidhu not to cause further harm to the party.
