Congress senior leaders hold meeting, plan protests

A meeting of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee’s senior leaders was held today to chalk out further strategy in the recently concluded Mayoral elections and forthcoming parliamentary elections. According to H.S. Lucky, President of Chandigarh Pradesh Congress, it was decided to organize a series of protests in the coming days to highlight the wrongdoings of BJP and its presiding officer, Anil Masih. Today, a protest was organized by the Youth Congress. Tomorrow, protests are being organized by NSUI and Mahila Congress. Alka Lamba, President of All India Mahila Congress, will be coming to Chandigarh tomorrow to take part in these protests.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Pradesh Election Committee was also held today under the chairmanship of H.S. Lucky, in which it was decided to invite applications for candidature in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections for the Chandigarh seat.
The last date for inviting applications will be the 10th of February until 4 pm. All those interested in applying may submit an application at Rajiv Gandhi Congress Bhawan, Sector 35, Chandigarh, along with a draft or cheque of Rs. 10,000.
