Congress on Tuesday got a major shot in the arm as many former MLAs, senior party officials, workers and retired IAS officers left important senior positions in the state in BJP, JJP, INLD, Samajwadi Party, joined the Congress under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, State Congress President Ch Udaibhan and MP Deepender Hooda. Expressing confidence in the policies of Congress and strengthening the fight for change of power in the state, the leaders resolved to fight to bring a pro-people Congress government in the state.

Prominent among those who joined included former MLA and State President of JJP Haryana Legal Cell Suraj Bhan Kajal, former Principal Secretary (Home) of Haryana, retired IAS Vinay Singh Yadav, Ch Balbir Singh (State President, Samajwadi Party), former candidate from Pundri and Pai Legislative Assembly Sajjan Singh Dhull, retired IAS Wazir Singh Goyat, retired GM Haryana Roadways Kuldeep Ahlawat, retired Tehsildar Pyarelal, former district spokesperson of INLD Rewari Totaram, independent candidate from Kosli Assembly seat Mrs Vinod Kumari Chauhan, Bhupinder (State Vice President Youth JJP).

On this occasion, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Ch Bhupinder Singh Hooda welcomed those joining Congress and assured everyone that those joining the party will be given due respect. “All of them have come to serve not only Haryana, but the country and for this the Congress has to be strengthened. Their arrival will further strengthen the Congress party. The Congress party is going to form the government in 2024. A glimpse of which has been shown by the people of the state in Pundri, Sirsa and Safidon in the last three days,” he said.

State Congress President Ch Udaibhan said every section of the society in Haryana is fed up with the anti-people policies and functioning of the BJP, and is looking towards the Congress with hope. “The coalition government is now a guest for a few months,” he said.

MP Deepender Hooda said the water of opposition to the government is flowing above the danger mark, the rain of resentment is showing no signs of stopping. “The BJP-JJP coalition government is now a guest for a few months. During the last one year, more than 36 former MLAs of various parties, senior leaders, party officials, thousands of workers, have joined Congress under the leadership of Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda and State Congress President Ch Udaibhan. Among these, the largest number are those who left the ruling BJP-JJP and their B team INLD,” he said.

Deepender said the Congress organization is becoming increasingly strong in every village and the ruling coalition is getting disintegrated.
