Congress office set on fire in Munugode constituency of Telangana

On Tuesday, President of Telangana Pradesh Commitee(TPCC), Revnath Reddy claimed that the Congress Party office in Chandur was set on fire by some people. He demanded stern action against the culprits.

Revanth Reddy threatened to stage a dharna at the SP office if miscreants were not apprehended within a day. “Some miscreants set fire to the office of the Congress party in Chandur Mandal, Center of Munugodu Constituency and burned the party office and campaign materials,” Revanth Reddy said. He added that despite the destruction of party buildings or the burning of party offices, the flag of Congress would always fly high and the success of Congress cannot be halted by such terrible deeds.

Revanth, the head of the TPCC, also warned that the government will suffer the repercussions if it did not take swift action.
Revanth stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) “colluded and have a plan to threaten our cadre,” adding that if the accused are not apprehended, an agitation will be staged against TRS and BJP.
In the meantime, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the state’s ruling party, launched their campaign for the Munugode Assembly seat on August 20. In order to kick off the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) campaign for the impending Munugode by-election, Chief Minister KCR travelled to the Munugode Assembly constituency.

After sitting Congress MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy recently left the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, a byelection for the Munugodu assembly was held.
