Frustrated with not receiving a ticket, MLA from Bari and Chairman of the SC-ST Commission, Khiladi Lal Bairwa, became emotional while addressing Congress workers in Bari on Sunday. During this, he announced his decision to contest as an independent candidate. Khiladi Lal Bairwa said, “I didn’t expect to see this day. It’s okay that the ticket was denied. I didn’t want to come, but I’m hurt because the sentiments of the people were not considered. Today, I held a meeting with the party workers. It was a joint meeting of both blocks. It has become clear that everyone is unhappy with the decision that has been made. I have served for 5 years. I never wanted this. The party has given me a lot. Even now, I didn’t want to, but the workers said that you’re leaving us by turning your back.”
He added, “Whatever decision the workers make, I will accept. If you tell me to jump into a well, I will jump into the well. The opinion of all people is that I should contest in the elections. I shouldn’t turn my back. On Monday, everyone will gather at Sengar Garden, where nominations as an independent candidate will be filed.”
