Congress meeting hit by factional differences

Congress meeting for the Lok Sabha election opinion poll was marred by chaos. District President and Congress candidate from Hawa Mahal assembly constituency RR Tiwari also strongly opposed the meeting. After some uproar, senior leaders of the country consoled the media and calmed down the matter. Factionalism was apparent in the meeting.
It was believed that the appointment of RR Tiwari being disliked by former minister Mahesh Joshi brought about this friction. Additionally, the recent announcement of the executive also is being considered as the reason for resentment in the opposition camp.
Former minister Mamta Bhupesh and Jaipur District President RR Tiwari had called a meeting in the city Congress office regarding opinion polling on the candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. The leaders were made to sit outside for opinion polling. Meanwhile, Bagru’s Congress leader Mahesh Karadiya started a ruckus.
Karadiya expressed his displeasure over District President Jaichand’s statement of not giving place to the people working in the recently announced Jaipur City Congress Executive Committee and lashed out. Karadiya said, “Such people have been made officials who have not even done any work. Those who were working were not given space and those who were supposed to work were left aside.”
He accused them of neglecting and ignoring the party workers who work at the grassroots level. He questioned how would they win the election by giving posts like this. He further added that they already had made arrangements to lose.
When Karadiya started speaking loudly in the meeting, Congress officials tried to calm the matter. The leaders said that it does not suit a senior leader to speak publicly like this. On this, he got into a tussle with the leaders who tried to pacify him. He said that he had been working for the party for 30 years. On this, other officials said that they too have been working for 50 years. They accused Karadiya of damaging the party’s image.
