Congress leader blames Kejriwal for Centre’s Delhi Services Bill

Departing from the party line, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit criticised Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the Delhi Services Bill, claiming that his power struggle and harsh exchanges with the Centre led to the draft legislation on the control of services in the national capital.
The draft legislation on Delhi services was enacted by Parliament on Monday with a comfortable margin in the Rajya Sabha.
Sandeep Dikshit stated in a video message on Monday, just after the Bill passed its final legislative test in the Upper House, that the Centre would never have filed such a Bill if the AAP convener had not been embroiled in a long-running conflict with the Centre over control of services.
He went on to say that “there was a time when the Centre and previous Delhi governments shared control of Delhi’s services.” Everything was running smoothly. Unfortunately, Arvind Kejriwal has been involved in politics since he assumed office in 2014.
He became entangled in a power struggle with the Centre in order to safeguard his political interests through deception. This is why the Centre proposed this Bill. “There was no need for such a Bill in Delhi otherwise,” Dikshit said.
