Congress’ dilemma

The Congress party is in a dilemma about whether to support Arvind Kejriwal on the ordinance issue or not. Initially, some of the Congress spokespersons appeared on television and opposed the ordinance promulgated by the central government. A spokeswoman of the AAM-ADMI Party also welcomed the support of the Congress Party. A Congress spokesperson clarified that they are opposing the ordinance but not supporting the Aam Admi Party. Later, this created huge confusion among the Delhi Congress leaders. They put pressure on high command to not join the protest of the Kejriwal government. Late in the evening, the AICC issued a statement saying that Congress has not taken any decision on the ordinance issue. One senior leader of the AICC even tweeted that the central government is within his right to promulgate ordinances. It may create further confusion within the opposition ranks as Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has openly sided with Kejriwal.

Fissures in Tripura BJP
When the newly elected BJP government just started setting down, serious fissures came out openly in the state BJP. Former BJP CM and Rajya Sabha MP Biplob Dev openly criticised the BJP government for not taking action on corruption charges against some of their leaders. The Chief Minister is so annoyed that he is planning to air-dash to Delhi to lodge a complaint against the former CM. Biplob has also said that if the central party gives him charge of the state, he would give two Lok Sabha seats to PM Modi in the upcoming election. Observers say he is almost saying that if he is not given charge, the BJP may not get two secured seats from the state.

PM Modi may interact with media
The PM may interact with editors upon the completion of nine years of government. There is a buzz that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may interact with some editors of newspapers and television channels. Guessing this, some of the bureau chiefs of new organisations have started to put requests in the PMO to get a chance of interviewing PM. So far, no decision has been taken. But it’s a fare guess that PM Modi may highlight the government’s achievements and world politics in such an interview.
