Congress’ Bhupinder Hooda’s SUV hit by nilgai in Haryana

Former Chief Minister of Haryana and Senior Congress leader, Bhupinder Singh Hooda had a close brush with danger on Sunday when a nilgai hit his SUV in Hisar district. The 75-year-old leader was on his way to attend a function when the incident occurred. Fortunately, Hooda escaped unhurt and no one else in the vehicle was injured.
According to the Superintendent of Police of Hisar, Ganga Ram Punia, the front bumper of the Toyota vehicle was damaged in the incident. “A nilgai suddenly appeared on the road and hit Mr Hooda’s vehicle. However, he escaped unhurt and no one else in the vehicle received any injury,” Punia said.
Hooda confirmed the incident and said, “The animal hit our vehicle, but everyone is safe.” He also added that he would continue with his scheduled events for the day and was headed to a village for a function.
Hooda, who is currently the Leader of Opposition in the Haryana Assembly, went on to carry out his pre-scheduled events for the day despite the close call. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reportedly called Hooda to inquire about
his well-being after
the incident.
This is not the first time that a nilgai has caused chaos on the roads. In recent years, incidents of these animals running amok on the highways have increased, causing accidents and damage to vehicles. With their population increasing rapidly, authorities are looking for ways to control their movements and reduce such incidents.
