Cong goes for dinner diplomacy to save Mahagathbandhan, stalemate continues

A last-ditch effort is currently on within the Mahagathbandhan to keep the flock intact. The initiative of cobbling the breaking alliance into a cohesive unit is being spearheaded by Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil. Gohil entered into dinner diplomacy with the RJD as a delegation of Congress leaders led by him went to Rabri Devi’s 10, Circular Road residence to meet Tejashwi Yadav. The stalemate, however, continues over the CM candidate within the Mahagathbandhan and over the issue of having a coordination committee.

It’s learnt through highly placed sources in the RJD and seconded by a top Congress leader that Yadav is not ready to form a coordination committee within the Mahagathbandhan. However, parties like HAM, RLSP and even VIP and Congress are desperate to have the committee and for it to iron out points of difference over the CM candidate as well as seatsharing. The RJD, however, continues with its adamant posturing.
