This case gained significant attention during the legislative elections. After the alleged explicit videos of Mevaram Jain went viral on social media, the Congress party suspended him from primary membership on Sunday. The BJP raised questions against the Congress regarding the viral video. Photographs of Mevararam Jain with former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Rahul Gandhi also continue to circulate on social media. However, as of now, there has been no statement from the Congress party regarding this case.
In recent days, a married woman filed a case of sexual assault against Mevaram Jain at the Rajiv Nagar police station in Jodhpur. She mentioned two explicit videos in her complaint. This case gained prominence during the legislative elections.
The woman accused Jain and his associates of sexually assaulting her and engaging in inappropriate activities with her 15-year-old minor daughter. Following the woman’s complaint, Mevaram Jain and nine others, including an RPSC officer, were named in the case.
After the revelation of the sexual assault case, the police conducted a medical examination of the woman and recorded her statement. Mevaram Jain sought refuge in the court in this case. Subsequently, the High Court granted relief, staying his arrest until January 25, and directed him to cooperate with the investigation.
