Commissioner Gupta takes action for enhanced roads’ illumination

The Municipal Commissioner, Sachin Gupta, held a meeting with officials of the Engineering Wing on Thursday. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, Apurv Choudhary, and Executive Engineer, Vijay Goyal, were also present. The Commissioner directed officials to ensure the installation of tricolor lights and street lights on roads. He emphasized that fountains at intersections should remain operational with proper lighting arrangements. The Commissioner stated that wherever entry gates are pending, they should be constructed promptly, and any potholes on the roads should be filled to make the roads pothole-free.
During the meeting, the Commissioner inquired about the progress of work at the Old Age Home. Officials informed him that the installation of the fire-fighting system is still pending. Expressing displeasure, the Commissioner directed officials to install the fire-fighting system within the next two days.
Following this, the Commissioner sought information from officials about the construction of a sports stadium. Officials mentioned that a sports stadium is being prepared in the village of Khatoli at a cost of 2.5 million rupees.
The Commissioner also inquired about the repair and maintenance of public toilets. Officials explained that tenders for some toilets are yet to be issued, prompting the Commissioner to instruct them to expedite the tender process for all toilets.
In the meeting, the Commissioner discussed the construction of EPDM tracks in all sectors. Officials reported that tracks in some sectors’ parks are ready, while tenders for others are still pending. The Commissioner directed that tenders for EPDM tracks in all parks be issued within the next 10 days.
Furthermore, the Commissioner raised the issue of purchasing a tractor-trailer and was informed that the financial bid is pending. In response, the Commissioner instructed officials to open the financial bid promptly and issue the work order.
Regarding the dumping site for C&D waste, the Commissioner asked officials to finalize the location. Officials mentioned that the selection has not been made yet, leading the Commissioner to instruct them to choose a location promptly and issue a tender for lifting C&D waste.
In attendance at the meeting were Additional Commissioner Pramod Kumar, Ajay Panghal, SDO Ajay Gautam, Manoj Ehlavat, and C.S.I. Avinash Singla.
