Code of Conduct triggers poster purge, returning govt cars in Rajasthan

With the bugle of assembly elections in Rajasthan, the code of conduct has come into force. In Rajasthan, there will be gazette notification on 30 October, nomination till 6 November, sorting on 7 November, withdrawal of nominations till 9 November, voting on 23 November, and counting of votes on 3 December. The process of removing banners, posters and messages promoting public representatives, candidates and government schemes from government buildings, and government properties has started. Work is being done to remove banner posters hanging at various places, including the Collectorate Building, Government Senior Secondary School, electricity poles, and government offices. After the Election Commission’s announcement, the planned pictures on the websites have also been changed. The big advertisements run by the Chief Minister have also been removed. Even the photos of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and the Congress government have disappeared from the websites of CM and DIPR. The Rajasthan Transport Department has issued immediate orders to all ministers, corporations, boards, and commissions’ chairpersons to return the vehicles after the Model Code of Conduct was enforced. Ministers and state ministers returned their vehicles, and by Monday night, several vehicles had reached the motor garage.
