Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, along with his cabinet, visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir construction site in Ayodhya as part of a special meeting held in the holy city. The historic gathering marks the first time the state’s executive body convenes in Ayodhya.
The cabinet, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, traveled to the Ramkatha Museum, where prayers were offered at the Hanumangarhi temple and the site of Ram Lala Virajman. The museum, adorned with grand decorations and posters of Lord Shri Ram and Lord Hanuman, serves as the venue for the meeting.
Security has been heightened, with the Uttar Pradesh Police deploying the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Ayodhya. ADG Police, Lucknow Zone, Piyush Mordia, assured that security measures wouldn’t disrupt the daily routine of residents preparing for Diwali.
The decision to hold the cabinet meeting in Ayodhya coincided with significant anniversaries related to the temple’s construction. The meeting, in addition to religious aspects, is expected to focus on development initiatives and preparations for the upcoming Deepotsav celebrations.
Notably, the cabinet meeting precedes the consecration of the Idol of Lord Ram in the temple, scheduled for January 22, 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the consecration ceremonies alongside several seers.
