Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link on January 12th, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced on Sunday. The project entails building a 22 km long, six-tier, three-plus-three-lane, two emergency-lane bridge that connects mainland Nhava and Mumbai’s Shivdi. At the Navi Mumbai end of the link, there will be interchanges at Shivaji Nagar, Jassi, and Chirle on National Highway 4B, as well as interchanges at Sewri in Mumbai. The people impacted by the project have received rehabilitation, and the fishermen whose livelihoods were impacted by its execution have received compensation in line with government regulations.
